As of Sept 21st 2020, for every SeaClean bracelet purchased, we'll fund the collection of 200 ocean-bound plastic bottles! That's 4 kilograms or 8.8 pounds of single-use plastic!
With the help of Plastic Bank, we fund the collection of single-use plastics in areas where ocean pollution is most prevalent (Indonesia, Haiti & The Philippines). We fund recycling programs where locals can exchange plastic waste for cash or household goods. This gives the plastic new value which reduces the flow of plastic into rivers and oceans. The plastic collected is then recycled and turned into new products creating a circular economy.
This bracelet was designed to raise awareness to our worldwide plastic waste crisis. We hope you will wear it with pride and it will inspire you or someone you know to reduce the use of single-use plastic.
Our feature charm was inspired by a real turtle named Peanut. As a baby turtle, she became entangled in a six-pack ring which was carelessly discarded. During development, her body was unable to break the plastic, giving her a disfigured hourglass shape. Fortunately little Peanut was saved, and though she has internal issues, she has led a long happy life.
This pendant carries an important message that even a single piece of litter can irreparably change a life.
This bracelet's clasp is sterling silver. Our Peanut charms are crafted using the centuries-old technique of lost-wax casting. Every charm is handmade in Vancouver, B.C. Canada.
